Posteriormente, según Boone, dijo el mandatario en Egipto, a mediados del pasado año 2,009 que “pudiera afirmarse que América es una nación musulmana” Con un presidente que sustenta estas ideas y que en su vida personal no ha escogido después de un año en la Casa Blanca una iglesia para él y su familia, se nos hace evidente que en su fe religiosa-cristiana hay un espacio vacío que no puede pasarse por alto.</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black" lang=ES-TRAD><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>

Seguramente que el mensajero bíblico desconoce los orígenes etimológicos de ese vocablo, y lo usa sin sospechar su verdadero significado. Ojalá es una palabra de origen árabe que literalmente significa “si Alá quisiere”. Aparece registrada por primera vez en nuestra lengua en el Diccionario Español-Latino de Nebrija en el año 1495. Proviene de le expresión “insh Alá”. <BR>”Insh” es una partícula que denota posibilidad, deseo o voluntad sujetos a probabilidades, y Alá es el nombre de Dios en árabe.</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black"

Los musulmanes moros ocuparon la península ibérica por más de 700 años (711-1492) y dejaron huellas permanentes que todavía hoy se perciben en todo el territorio español. Es difícil determinar la cantidad de palabras en nuestro idioma que provienen de los árabes. Generalmente los vocablos que comienzan con la partícula “al” tienen ese origen, y mencionamos simples ejemplos: alcalde, alguacil, alambique, álgebra, ámbar, aldea, almohada, alfiler y ajedrez. La lista ocuparía un diccionario. Lo curioso es que la ocupación árabe en España no fue de un impacto
religioso predominante, De alguna forma los españoles se adhirieron a su fe católica romana y permanecieron en la misma con cierto sentido de lealtad a pesar de los límites impuestos por las fuerzas de ocupación. Los moros no eran iconoclastas fanáticos y sobrevivieron en el poder respetando relativamente las instituciones existentes.</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black" lang=ES-TRAD><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>

Merece particularmente destacarse la fortaleza de la Alhamabra (palabra que significa “castillo rojo”). Los que han visitado además de Granada, por mencionar simplemente un par de ejemplos, las ciudades de Córdoba y Sevilla, se han percatado de la influencia árabe,</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black" lang=ES-TRAD><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="COLOR: black; mso-ansi-language: ES" lang=ES> Moro es un término que históricamente se ha utilizado en España para designar los musulmanes. La palabra castellana <I>moro</I> procede del latín <I>maurus</I>, vocablo que a su voz procede del griego <I>mauros </I>(negro o moreno), con el que se designaban a los habitantes del antiguo reino de Mauritania y de otras provincias romanas adyacentes. Aún hoy en griego moderno <I>mauros-mavri </I>es el adjetivo masculino-femenino para <I>negro. </I>La expresión, que tiene cierta connotación despectiva, sigue usándose, aunque en menor escala, para identificar a los pobladores de las ciudades que comprenden todo el oeste de Africa al norte del Sahara: la actual Mauritania, Marruecos, Argelia, Túnez, e incluso
Libia.</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black" lang=ES-TRAD><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>

Es muy común la tendencia de identificar a los musulmanes como árabes, pero debemos tener en cuenta que aunque casi el 90% de las personas que tienen el árabe como lengua materna profesan la religión del Islam, tan solo el 20% de los musulmanes son necesariamente árabes. La mayoría de los musulmanes son turcos, iraníes, pakistaníes, indios y habitantes del sudeste asiático. Se estima que hay en la actualidad más de 1800 millones de musulmanes en el mundo. Esta religión se inició con la predicación de Mahoma en el año 622 en La Meca (en la actual Arabia Saudita). Inicialmente de acuerdo con el Corán, su libro sagrado, la religión invocaba el pacifismo como medio de ajustar las relaciones humanas a un nivel de confraternidad; pero al correr de los siglos el concepto de que los que no abrazan el islamismo son infieles a los que debe convencerse o destruirse, hizo que la política y la intransigencia religiosa se identificaran de tal manera que en estos tiempos el ideal islámico de conquistar el
mundo justifica la práctica del más desalmado y fiero terrorismo.</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black" lang=ES-TRAD><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>

Sin embargo, ese concepto es demasiado simplista. En el seno del supuesto islamismo pacífico existe un silencio asombroso, casi cómplice, en relación con los criminales actos violentos de los fanáticos religiosos. Ejemplo de esto lo hallamos en la prensa islámica, y señalamos a su más influyente medio, Aljazeera, que aunque proclama mantener independencia de criterio, trata de forma preferente las informaciones en respaldo de los actos del terrorismo.</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black"
