Carta de Zapatero a Fidel Castro

Organicé la Agencia Efe en La Habana en los 80. De aquella época conservo allí buenos amigos. Uno de ellos me ha filtrado la carta que José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero ha dirigido a Fidel Castro. La reproduzco a continuación sin quitar ni añadir una coma, aqui va:
. «Querido y admirado Presidente, mi Comandante: El ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de mi Gobierno, Miguel Angel Moratinos, me da cuenta de su viaje oficial a Cuba y me informa de la evolución favorable de la salud de Vuestra Excelencia. No sabe cómo lo celebro porque mi generación se ha educado con la vista puesta en la Cuba comunista y en la figura irrepetible de Fidel Castro, centinela de la libertad, caudillo del Caribe por la gracia del destino histórico y comandantísimo de los ejércitos de Tierra, Mar y Aire de la perla de las Antillas. 
Las nuevas generaciones que viven en el hedonismo, no tienen conciencia clara de lo que ha supuesto para el mundo la lucha de Vuestra Excelencia por la libertad, por los Derechos Humanos y por la política social, todo ello frente a la voracidad del Imperio, frente al incalificable bloqueo impuesto por los Estados Unidos. A pesar de esa tropelía histórica, Cuba es hoy, gracias a Vuestra Excelencia, un paraíso de libertad, una nación justa en la que se respetan y acatan las leyes derivadas de la voluntad general libremente expresada, con un pueblo libre y esperanzado que disfruta de un alto nivel de vida, habiéndose sustituido en todas vuestras ciudades el caduco signo de la cruz por el de la hoz y el martillo. El ministro Moratinos se ha quedado en un pasmo ante el progreso y la dicha de la ciudadanía cubana. 
Ciertamente la depravación del turista extranjero ha obligado al Gobierno de Vuestra Excelencia a mantener en las calles a las jineteras pero la inmensa mayoría de la nueva generación vive feliz, encuadrada en ese frente de juventudes admirable que es la organización de los pioneros. 
Di instrucciones a mi ministro para que no abogara por los llamados «presos políticos», que no son otra cosa que mercenarios al servicio de una potencia extranjera, traidores a la patria o terroristas que pretenden socavar los cimientos de la gloriosa Revolución, el régimen establecido por Vuestra Excelencia, que es ejemplo en todo el mundo de respeto a los derechos humanos y a las libertades. Sólo la falacia del ultraderechista Aznar pudo llevar a la decadente Europa a la posición fascista de tomar medidas contra el régimen de Vuestra Excelencia. Naturalmente yo he decidido restablecer una relación privilegiada con el Gobierno democrático de Vuestra Excelencia. También di instrucciones a mi ministro para que no atendiera a los disidentes, ridículas minorías resentidas, incapaces de comprender la grandeza de la Revolución que Vuestra Excelencia, patria o muerte, ha llevado a cabo. 
Dentro de dos años, mi Comandante, se cumplirán los 50 años del acceso a la jefatura del Estado de Vuestra Excelencia. Me propongo acudir a La Habana, en compañía de todo mi Gobierno para rendir a Vuestra Excelencia el homenaje que todos los demócratas del mundo le debemos. Medio siglo, 50 años, ganando una tras otra todas las elecciones ejemplarmente democráticas que se han celebrado en vuestro país, hollado un día por aquella España de infausta memoria, colonialista, católica e inquisitorial, es acontecimiento sin precedentes. 
Aprovecho esta carta, mi Comandante, para implorarle que me conceda el alto honor de permitir que España se incorpore al eje Castro-Chávez-Evo, que tiene en permanente tembladera a los Estados Unidos y a su presidente fascista, el malhadado Bush. 
En espera de sus gratas noticias, le reitero, mi Comandante, mi deseo y el del pueblo español de su pronto restablecimiento y quedo como siempre a la entera disposición de Vuestra Excelencia con mi renovada admiración y mi deseo permanente de seguir recibiendo vuestras enseñanzas.
